The Weekenders by The Hold Steady

I started my first day at Anoka Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids, MN.

Yes, I know what they say about community colleges.
That they are for slackers and for people who didn't quite excel in school.

Bullshit.

I look at community college in a different way. I view it as a cost effective and fun way to start one's post-secondary school career. Maybe you don't get to live in a dorm, but at the same time, because of small class sizes, you get more one on one time with the professor. A community college is small enough for a student to know a majority of people and feel less isolated.

A community college is nothing to be ashamed about. I learned that today.

Random Thought: Do I get extra credit in English for writing this blog?

  1. I suppose the credit would be based on the sylabus! You learned a great lesson today; thanks for spreading the word! Come by my office (L200) and say hello.
