What is right and what is wrong when it comes to the "grey area"? I mean, you know it's wrong to "borrow" your friend's pen for an indefinite amount of time but it's not like stealing it from the store. So, I begin to wonder, is the grey area really grey? No, matter what- it is what it is. You're stealing a pen, so it's always wrong. But why is one worse than the other? I'm starting to think it's because of the consequences. If you steal from a store, you can get caught and get a slap on the wrist...or worse. If you borrow your friend's pen and never return, nothing really happens - it seems.
Your friend realizes that you took their pen and judges you subconsciously thinking, "She/he never returns my pens." And that's not so much better because you create a discrepancy in their trust. I mean, everything in life happens for a reason. And with each cause, there is an effect. for the good. for the bad. Hmph.
