Blower's Daughterby Damien Rice
Not sure what it is about compassion. It seems that nowadays, people are only compassionate to what they can relate to or they think whoever has the prettiest sounding position on issues are somehow more compassionate. After a while, I began to ask, "Do I care about anything? Am I compassionate? Do I care to understand other people's shoes?"
After a bit of thought, I seemed less compassionate because I don't talk about other people's striking ordeals, I don't really know and understand the entirety of anyone's lives because I'm not living it. But I was walking to the store as I saw an old lady with a walking crutch get out of her car. It seemed pretty hard. Although I never had to use a crutch, as I was leaving the store, I helped the lady to her car and she told me, "It makes me feel a bit safer just by you being here." It's always great to help someone even if you don't know what it's like in their position.
Random Thought: I am trying to find the balance, and I get a step closer each day.
You are more compassionate than you realize. Helping out that woman is more compassionate than some people get in their lifetime.
